People always ask me: "Where did you learn how to do makeup?" and I am always proud to say I did not learn from YouTube. Makeup artists such as Bobbi Brown, Kevyn Aucoin, and Francois Nars were the ones who have taught me how to properly apply makeup. If you are an aspiring artist or just want to learn some basic skills, please read a Bobbi Brown or Kevyn Aucoin book. It's sad that social media has taken the cosmetic industry and turned it into a face-changing industry with all of these beauty gurus showing us how to contour, meaning fix our faces. We don't need to contour, we need to enhance what we have and achieve healthy-looking skin that glows from within! What happened to technique? I refuse to fall into these overrated trends. Bobbi Brown and Kevyn Aucoin will always be the makeup icons I aspire to be. True legends.
